Cassie McCracken, (Cassidy Sundance), Rehearsal Director, Dancer Cassie’s dance career began at the age of 3, as a ballet dancer wearing a light blue tutu playing leap-frog across the stage with other dancers of the same caliber, shoes flying left and right and an unrehearsed tumble, artistically improvised or accidentally placed when needed. Since then she’s increased her repertoire to include Jazz, Tap, Modern, Latin, and Burlesque (usually as a man). In High School, Cassie had the opportunity to study modern dance under a Martha Graham Company member at Dartmouth College. She then went to New York to study with the Graham and Cunningham Schools before enrolling in the dance program at Connecticut College. After college, she continued her study of how and why the body moves like it does by receiving her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic. While pursuing her Doctorate she still found the time to perform professionally with Dance St. Louis in 2005. He first dance memory was of her older sister dressing her up and video taping her bopping around to L.L. Cool J. Although discouraged to take dance classes since it was not a “sport”, Lola’s dancing abilities were evolved by living in the cultural melting pot of Long Island, New York. Always wanting to be some ethnicity other than Caucasian, Lola enjoys salsa and Middle Eastern Dance. Ironically, Lola was inspired by the Americana style of dance, classic Burlesque. Lola taught herself to tassel twirl and joined the Amesbury Playhouse’s annual “Sweet Tease Burlesque”. At this time, Ms. Coquette (French translation: flirt) learned how to coyly remove her clothes and developed her specialty “Sex-a-tary Strip”. Permitted to personalize her specialty, Lola Coquette became the “classy stripper” seen today. Looking to further develop her character and to have a continuing outlet for her lingerie and rhinestone fetish, Lola sought out the very talented troupe famously named Iron Heart Circus. When she is not burlesquing, Lola likes to disregard her BS in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire and work as a Radiology Assistant. In her spare time, she can be found reading, weight training and practicing Danse du ventre (literal French translation: dance of the stomach (a.k.a belly dance)) in her undergarments. In addition to dancing, Hannah also is a waitress and bartender in a local restaurant, and also a volunteer at a nearby hospital. She also enjoys just about anything that would make her mother gasp or her father cringe (including helping out her older sister at joust shows by throwing around a lance or two). Hannah hopes to continue to dance her way through undergraduate school, grad school, and whatever comes after that! Courtney Chirstyne Ducharme (Tiffany Cocktail) Courtney started training in Jazz and Modern dance when she was five and has dappled in capoeira, tap and theatre dance. Already a Master of Science (a degree she finished in September), she is beginning her PhD in the Natural Resources & Earth Systems Science (NRESS) program. She studies fishery science and long-term marine ecosystem change. Before attending UNH, Emily received her Bachelor's degree from the University of California at San Diego in 2003. Following graduation, she worked for various field research projects across the country and abroad. She tracked Canada lynx in Yellowstone National Park, studied the effects of forest fires as a management tool and the abundance of river otters in Kentucky, and studied birds on the Big Island, Hawai'i and in Whitehouse, Jamaica. In 2006, she returned to her first love, the ocean, when she enrolled at UNH. She enjoys writing, playing the ukulele, and is rumored to own a gorilla suit. Amy Murphy (Wanda Lei-Me) Amy began dancing at the age of 3 when her mom had hoped that dance may help her klutziness. Unfortunately it didn’t, but it did spark a love for dance! Amy found that ballet & jazz-especially lyrical were what she thrived on. She danced with the First Class Dance Repertory Company and began teaching ballet & jazz to children & teens while in college. Amy has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and has worked the last 11 years in labor, delivery, post-partum & pediatrics at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH.
